Vasiliki (Vicky)Fragkoudi

Born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She is a PhD candidate at the Ionian University, School of Economics, Department of Tourism. Her dissertation focuses on "The Impact of Urban Regeneration through Industrial Heritage on Destination Identity," with a case study on the Tobacco Warehouses of Kavala. She graduated with honors from the Master’s Program in "Cultural Communication & Management" at the School of Economics and Political Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has also completed a Master’s degree from the Department of Theatre, School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from where she also received her first degree.

 

She participated in the research team of the Ionian University and the University of Vadnagar on the project "Understanding the Living Heritage of Vadnagar with a Comparative Study to the Historic Site of Elefsina/Eleusis, Greece". She participated in Blended Intensive Programme "Destination analysis" in Universidad Jaume I in Spain. She completed her internship “UNESCO Chair Trainees” at the University of Macedonia, with a thesis on the Legislative Framework for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in Greece. She has also interned in the communication sector at the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy. Her research interests include Cultural Diplomacy and the promotion of Industrial Heritage in Greece.

 

She speaks English, French, Turkish, and Norwegian. She is a member of the Greek and international section of TICCIH, the Industrial Heritage Inventory (ΒΙ.Δ.Α.), and the Europa Nostra network. She has participated in national and international conferences and workshops.​

 

She collaborated with world-renowned directors, such as Dennis Hilton Reed in the context of the Epidavrus Lyceum of the Athens and Epidavrus Festival and Philip Atlakson. She has worked in private and public bodies (Thessaloniki Film Festival, Municipality of Thessaloniki, Municipality of Pavlos Melas, National Theater of Northern Greece) while she has volunteered at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. Designed Site Specific Performances in World Heritage sites of Greece. She is completing her first movie "Point Zero. A Film about human Freedom", filmed in a former concentration camp in Greece.​
